Description

Alsager, a township chapelry in Barthomley parish, Cheshire, 4 1/2 miles SSE of Sandbach. It has a station on the North Staffordshire railway, about a mile distant, and a post office under Stoke-upon-Trent. Acreage, 2241; population, 1912. The living, a chapel of ease to Barthomley, is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Chester; net value, £260. Patron, the Bishop of Chester. The church was built in 1789. There are chapels for Wesleyans, Primitive Methodists, and Congregationalists.
