Description

Belchford or Belshford, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire, on the Wolds, 4 1/2 miles NNE of Horncastle station on the G.N.R. The parish has a post and money order office under Horncastle, which is the telegraph office. Acreage, 2542; population, 403. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; gross yearly value, £425 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is a building of stone in the Early English style, and there are Primitive Methodist and Wesleyan chapels.
